Veslemøy grew up in the Gudbrandsdalen valley in Norway, moving to Oslo for her university education. After obtaining a BSc at the University of Oslo, she joined the lab of Prof. Pierre Chymkowitch for her MSc thesis where she investigated SUMOylation of the Mediator complex and its role in transcriptional regulation. Her interest in transcription and its regulation stems from a deep fascination with the origin of life and she is thrilled to continue dissecting the process of transcription during her PhD in the Vastenhouw lab!

When not in the lab she is an avid reader, enjoys being in nature and likes to draw.
