Jonas grew up and completed his early training in Switzerland. He first joined the Centre for Integrative Genomics (CIG) at the University of Lausanne, where he completed a three-year apprenticeship as a laboratory technician in biology. During this time, he had the opportunity to work with several research groups, gaining broad experience in different areas of biological research and laboratory techniques.

He then pursued a two-year technical baccalaureate alongside his work at the CIG, where he joined the group of Maria Cristina Gambetta and further developed his experience in molecular biology and genomics. He is currently completing a BSc in Biotechnology at HES-SO Valais-Wallis in Sion and has successfully completed his second year.

This summer, he has joined the Vastenhouw lab as a laboratory technician, where he is working on projects related to genomics and transcriptional regulation. He is excited to further develop his experimental skills, discover new approaches to research, and contribute to the team's work.

In his free time, he enjoys sailing, skiing, going to the gym, and staying active in general. He also enjoys spending time and going out with his friends.
