A Peek Inside Our Fish Unit

As part of Les Mystères de l'UNIL 2026, Gilles and Pedro welcomed visitors to our fish unit and offered them a behind-the-scenes look at zebrafish research. Throughout the day, they introduced visitors to one of the most important members of our team: the zebrafish. Participants discovered the fish facility, learned how zebrafish are housed and cared for, and gained insight into our daily work. For many visitors, it was their first opportunity to see a modern aquatic facility.

Events like Les Mystères de l'UNIL are a wonderful opportunity to share our passion for science, answer questions from curious visitors, and show what happens behind the doors.

And who knows—perhaps among our guests was a future zebrafish researcher, future fish facility manager, or even a future member of our lab!
