Spring is in the lab

On the first day of spring we organized our annual lab cleaning. It's a day, where we put away our pipets and spend time instead on making our lab space clean and shiny.

The whole morning was dedicated to cleaning. Our benches are now so spotless that you'd like to eat on them (not recommended for hygiene & safety reasons, though!). The spring air from outside enhanced the feeling of freshness.

Then the fun part came! Since the weather was beautiful, we headed outside to have lunch and coffee and enjoy a bit of sunshine.

But this was not the end! Warmed up by the sunny weather, we thought about cooling down a bit, so we went to Morges to play curling in a hall with 4 degrees inside. For each of us this was a new experience, but such a fun one! While it looks easy when watched on TV, in reality even walking on ice was challenging at the beginning. But with time we've become better and even managed to play a match at the end! Gilles has clearly discovered his new passion for that sport.

This was such a fun day and we're already thinking about organizing the next one, but maybe not in a year to not to wait too long :)
